Bobi Wine, the leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), yesterday received a warm welcome in Busoga, where he opened the party’s office in Kigulu North Constituency. The enthusiastic crowd listened attentively as he spoke, and he also donated financial assistance and building materials to help complete a classroom block that had been stalled for over 20 years.
“The school needed help to complete the construction of a classroom block that has stalled for over 20 years. Each election season, regime politicians have been promising to work on the school, only to run away after the election.” Bobi Wine said.
This gesture is particularly significant given Busoga’s history as an industrial region that has struggled with growing poverty and associated issues since General Museveni took power. Bobi Wine’s message of transformation seems to resonate deeply with the people of Busoga, who are eager for change.
“We have donated 12,000 bricks and 100 bags of cement to them. We also provided financial support to enable them purchase sand and other items, in the hope that it will provide pupils with a safer and better learning environment.” He added after the function.
Bobi Wine said is very grateful to the people for such a warm reception. He added that he can only pay them back by continuing to fight, alongside themselves and other citizens, until Uganda is free!
