The Forum for democratic change, FDC political party have today announced their successful candidates to represent them in the fight for the Kawempe North constituency and Kazo Angola byelections.
The Kawempe North seat for the member of parliament became vacant after the death of Hon. Segirinya Muhammad at the beginning of this year. Among the candidates who were nominated is musician Mukiibi Sadat also known as Kalifah Aganaga who will contest on the FDC ticket.
“We have today successfully concluded the internal process of identifying candidates who will hold our flag in the upcoming Kawempe North By-election. The Party Electoral Commission has officially presented tMr. Sebunya Sharif – Councilor, Kazo Angola and Mr. Mukiibi Sadat – Member of Parliament, Kawempe North” the party announced.
The party further announced Mr. Mayeku Jacob as the flag bearer in the guild race for Makerere University Business School (MUBS)
“In the same spirit, the party will support Mr. Mayeku Jacob as our Guild Presidential Candidate for Makerere University Business School (MUBS).” they added.
The Candidates were officially received by the party President Patrick Oboi Amuriat at the party headquarters Najjankumbi.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters in Najjanankumbi, the party president Patrick Oboi Amuriat defended their candidate’s lifestyle saying there is a good leader in him despite having dreadlocks on his head
“We have spoken to our brother Aganaga, and we have learned that beneath those deadlocks, there is a competent leader, a great human,” Amuriat said.
The party also confirmed Sharif Ssebunya as its candidate for the vacant Kazo-Angola Ward councillor seat.
